Mika EngineeringBuild partner for studios

Web development for design studios & agencies

Your studio designs it. I build it.

I turn finished Figma, XD and Sketch designs into custom website code — as the build partner your studio plugs in when a project needs development. No WordPress, no page builder, no plugins, no subscription. Your client owns every line of code.

The partner model

A development desk your studio can switch on.

You keep the client, the design direction and the relationship. I take the build — carefully, with questions asked early, and without adding another platform to your client’s bill.

01

Your name stays on the work

The project can run under your studio’s name. I work in the background, your client talks to you. NDAs are fine.

[assumption: white-label offered — confirm wording]

02

Capacity when the team is full

When your developers are booked or you don’t keep any in-house, I take on the build so the design doesn’t sit and wait.

03

Small on purpose

One person, few projects at a time. That keeps quality steady — and means I’ll say so early if a project isn’t a good fit.

Handover in both directions

What you hand over, what comes back.

Clear inputs, clear outputs. If something is missing from the file, you hear about it before the build starts — not after.

From your studio

Input
  • The design fileFigma, XD or Sketch — desktop and mobile where you have them.
  • Content and assetsTexts, images, fonts and licences, or placeholders to fill later.
  • One decision-makerThe person who answers questions about the design.
  • Hosting detailsYour client’s own hosting, or we agree on hosting separately.

Back to you

Output
  • A list of gaps firstMissing states, breakpoints or pages flagged before building.
  • A private preview URLPassword-protected, updated as the build progresses.
  • The finished websiteCustom code, uploaded to the host or delivered as files.
  • Full ownershipAll source code goes to your client — no lock-in, any developer can take it on.

Process

Five steps from file to handover.

The first page sets the pattern. Once you’ve signed it off, the rest follows the same rules — so there are no surprises on page twelve.

  1. 01

    You send the design file

Link or export, plus whatever content already exists.

  2. 02

I check it and flag gaps

Missing hover, error or empty states, unclear breakpoints, edge cases — listed before any code is written.

  3. 03

The first page, as the pattern

One page fully built on the preview URL. You review it; we settle details once.

  4. 04

    All other pages and states

Built on the agreed pattern, visible on the preview as they come together.

  5. 05

    Handover

Uploaded to the host, or delivered as files to you or your client.

During the build, you and your studio follow progress on a private preview URL — no screenshots by email, no guessing where things stand.

Working together

Short lines, no layers.

No account manager, no ticket queue. The person who answers your message is the person writing the code.

Contact

One direct person

Questions go straight to the one building your project.

Visibility

A shared preview URL

Your whole team can see the current state at any time.

Response

Answers usually same day

Messages don’t sit for days, even when the build is in progress.

Schedule

Evenings and weekends

Building happens mostly then, planned openly so timelines stay realistic.

Handover to your client

When it launches, it belongs to them.

No platform to rent and nothing that stops working when someone stops paying. Your client gets a website they can keep, move and hand to anyone.

Always included

All source code, fully owned

Custom code without a theme, plugins or a page builder underneath. Your client can host it anywhere and work with any developer later.

  • No WordPress, no plugins, no subscription
  • Uploaded to the host or delivered as files
Separate agreement

Hosting and maintenance, if wanted

I can host and look after the site under a separate agreement. If your client already has hosting, that works just as well.

  • Client’s own hosting is fine
  • Terms: [hosting terms]
Optional

A lightweight editor for your client

If your client wants to update content themselves, the site can come with my own small CMS. A visual block editor — not WordPress, and no monthly fee.

  • Edit texts, images and pages visually
  • Versions and undo
  • Personal accounts with two-factor login
  • Separate layout tweaks for mobile and desktop

Selected work

Recent work, without names.

Client work stays anonymous here — the same discretion your studio’s projects get. Details and walkthroughs on request.

Machine shop website

Editable with the CMS, page templates, and an enquiry form with drawing upload.

Education · DE / EN · Editor

Training academy website

Bilingual German and English site, with the editor for the team’s own updates.

Good fit

Built for studios with finished designs.

The best projects arrive with a design that’s signed off and a studio that cares how it’s built. Smaller sites and multi-page builds alike.
